When baby, toddler and pre-schooler sleep problems resolve, entire families start to flourish.

We love what we do and hope you enjoy reading about other families, just like yours, who overcame their sleep difficulties.

Isabelle, 19 months.

The problem

Our first child was an amazing sleeper, so it was a shock to discover the methods I'd used previously didn't work for Isabelle. She is a very sensitive child and very attached to me. She would wake 6-12 times a night, sometimes taking over an hour to settle between sleeps. Day and night she would scream and have terrible separation anxiety being away from me. We tried sleep school, but we only saw a minor improvement.

The solution

When Isabelle was about nineteen months old, we found Dr Fallon online. We are so grateful for the guidance and support Fallon provided us. As a sensitive child Isabelle needed a gentle approach and with Fallon's support, we made many small changes to increase her sense of security, which in turn reduced her anxiety and helped her sleeping.

The outcome

Engaging Fallon to help with Isabelle’s sleeping was one of the best decisions we have made. She is a different child, so much happier and she has grown and developed so much since her sleeping has improved. Before Fallon's support Isabelle had never slept through the night. She now regularly sleeps through the night, settles herself and takes a few minutes to fall asleep. We are a much happier family now that we are all getting a good night’s sleep.

Thank you, Fallon!

Felix, 3.5 years.

The problem

We were desperate for help after months of bad sleep with our 3.5 year old. Some nights my wife and I would be trying for 2 or even 3 hours to get him to go to sleep. He’d be running out of his room, throwing his toys and even hitting us. But other nights it would only take half an hour for him to go to sleep. We never knew what each night would be like. It was terrible, really taking a terrible toll on our family.

The solution

Dr Laura helped us understand why Felix was acting like this at bedtime. We realised that he no longer needed to have a nap during the day, and this was making it too hard for Felix to go to sleep at night when we wanted him to. We understood that bedtime had become a really negative experience for Felix (and us) and we worked hard to make it a warmer more positive time for the whole family.

The outcome

The difference is unbelievable. Felix now goes to bed without a battle, and in fact we all enjoy the family time in the lead up to bed. I knew things had got bad, but it is only now on the other side of it that I can see how bad things were. Dr Laura helped us work out the best way for our family to make changes, and we can’t thank her enough.

Max, 15 months.

The problem

When I called Infant Sleep Australia I was defeated. We had used two sleep consultants, but Max’s sleep wasn’t getting any better. He would take ages to go to sleep sometimes not til 10pm or later and would still wake 2 or 3 times before morning. I was in tears most days.

The solution

I decided to go with Laura and Fallon because they offered ongoing support after our appointment, and I knew I needed this. Dr Laura was really supportive, understanding and encouraging. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the ongoing help she gave me.

The outcome

I really recommend Infant Sleep Australia because they never gave up on us. Max actually goes to bed at a normal time now!

Agnes, 8 months.

The problem

For the first 8 months Agnes wouldn’t sleep longer than an hour. Then I’d spend another hour trying to get her back to sleep again. She was the busiest baby, and it was hard to calm her down if she got tired and wound up. The only way to make her sleep was to rock her and feed her. It was really hard being so tired and I had a lot of problems with my back and neck from holding her so much. I knew she needed more sleep because she was crying a lot and really grumpy. I tried talking to a sleep consultant I found online but the lady gave me a really strict sleep routine that made Agnes cry even more than usual, so we gave up.

The solution

Then a friend posted about Infant Sleep Australia and I saw that Fallon was way more qualified than others and the website said that the support and sleep advice offered is unique to each baby and family. That sounded really good to us. Within a few days Fallon saw us and helped us work out a plan for Agnes’ sleep. She listened to what was going on for us and we told her that we didn’t want to do anything that would make Agnes cry even more. Fallon showed us new things we could do to help Agnes be calm and more ready for sleep and helped us set her bedroom up so it was darker. Fallon worked out a sleep plan for us that explained when and how to settle her.

The outcome

From there it was amazing how fast Agnes’ sleep changed. Two or three days in and she was sleeping for a 5 hour stretch at the start of the night, having a feed, and then going back to sleep until about 5.30am. We couldn’t believe it and wished we had contacted Fallon many months earlier. Agnes’ sleep is still getting better and better and sometimes she sleeps from 8pm-6am without waking up at all. She’s a much happier baby now. I feel like a different person and don’t know how we survived on so little sleep for so long. It’s just amazing to have an expert available to us whenever we need it. I think we needed that extra encouragement and support along the way.

My advice to other parents is to just go for it. I’m so glad we did and can’t recommend Infant Sleep Australia, and Fallon, highly enough.

-Jessica, mother of Agnes (8 months).

Agnes' sleep improved and her family is better rested

Tara, 7 months.

The problem

We’d tried every baby sleep book and online program going. My friend’s sister recommended Laura Conway and Fallon Cook to us - her baby went from waking all the time to sleeping through in a few days. We wanted that for our baby!!!

The solution

I felt really heard when I met Laura over telehealth – it was honestly the best appointment I’d had in ages! I left feeling hopeful and confident and knew that I could help Tara learn to sleep better. Laura explained Tara’s sleep needs and it all made so much sense. I was feeling like I must have been doing things wrong, but Laura was incredibly reassuring and pointed out all the good things I was doing! The sleep plan was comprehensive and clear and easy to follow. The first 2 nights were a bit tough like Laura warned me they would be, but actually it wasn’t as hard as I expected.

The outcome

Making changes to Tara’s daily routine helped a lot - we are all now much more refreshed and rested. I will recommend this service to anyone who has a baby that won’t sleep!!!

Hannah, 6 months.

The problem

Our daughter, Hannah, had never been a good sleeper. By the time she was 6 months old she was waking 4-7 times a night, and the only way to get her back to sleep was to breastfeed her. The days weren’t much better as Hannah would only nap lying on me or in her pram.

The solution

I was beyond tired when I contacted Infant Sleep Australia. Dr Laura Conway really listened to what was happening for us and wrote up a sleep plan taking account my values.

The outcome

All I can say is Laura is an absolute wizard! The plan went even better than I dared hope. Hannah is now sleeping through until 6am without waking and is napping in her cot. My partner and I are so delighted with the improvement in Hannah’s sleep. It has given us back our lives!

Ethan, 12 months.

The problem

Ethan was almost one when we reached out to Dr Fallon.  We had been to sleep school twice and tried other programs. Ethan had only randomly slept through the night on occasion, and I had been back to work for a month. He could be up for 30 mins – 2 hours with only cuddles and rocking to help him back to sleep.  We were desperate!

The solution

I found Fallon online and started to read reviews and research her accreditations.  I spoke to Fallon on the phone. She knew we were a tough case and she still really wanted to help.  Ethan certainly pushed the boundaries, but we would regroup and modify the approach when needed - it took 3 weeks but we found a routine that works.

The outcome

Ethan has slept through 4 nights in a row, gotten himself to sleep and back to sleep without rocking or cuddles, something he has never done before.  I couldn’t be more grateful for the program and mostly the support we’ve received. Thank you Fallon. Parents don’t wait until you are desperate like we were.  Get the help you need from the best.  100% worth the investment.

Daphne, 5 years.

The problem

Our daughter had started prep but was still sleeping in our bed most nights. She would usually go to sleep in her bed as long as I stayed with her but would wake up upset in the night and just crawl in with us. Sometimes I wouldn’t even realise she was there until I got kicked in the ribs as she hogged the bed! We really wanted her to be able to sleep in her bedroom with her younger brother, especially because I was pregnant with number 3. But rather than getting more likely, Daphne’s sleep seemed to be getting worse and sometimes she wasn’t even able to go to sleep in her own bed at all.

The solution

Our paediatrician told me about Infant Sleep Australia, and I was surprised to find out they help with prep kids as well as infants! Dr Fallon explained what was happening with Daphne at bedtime was impacting what was happening during the night. Because Daphne had separation anxiety and is a really sensitive child, she needed lots of support and reassurance from me as she fell asleep and again when she woke up without me beside her in the night. Starting prep seemed to make her even more sensitive for a while there.

The outcome

What I liked about how we helped Daphne learn to be more comfortable in her bed was that it was so kind. I was really worried that it was too late to help Daphne sleep better, or if we could help her that it would be really traumatic for all of us, including her brother who shares the room with her. It took a few weeks before Daphne was confident to go to sleep in her own bed without me being right beside her. But we kept moving forward and stuck to the plan. Our follow up appointments were really good at making sure we kept progressing, and making little changes when we saw how Daphne was going. She is now going to sleep in her bed at the same times as her brother, and managing to stay there until morning. We couldn’t be happier, and Daphne is so proud of herself too!

Chloe, 6 months.

The problem

We were exhausted with our little one (6 months old) and decided to get some help. Our baby was waking up to 4 times at night, often staying awake from 2am to 4am. Additionally, the only way to get her to sleep was to rock her and transfer her to her cot without waking her up.

The solution

Dr Laura Conway devised a plan in 2 phases to address those issues and we followed religiously the plan. Given the circumstances the progress was a bit slow for the first weeks but radically improved once we've reached the second phase.

The outcome

Now, our baby consistently sleeps 11h30 per night, without waking up and is able to self soothe. We are finally able to get some much-needed rest, and we are so glad to be over this phase thanks to Laura's guidance. The gain in quality of life for everyone was well worth the cost!

Rupert, 10 months.

Fallon, I can’t tell you how much you changed our lives! We sleep now, like regular people. I can put him down at night and he goes to sleep by himself without any fuss. I’ve been able to do things in the evening for the first time in ages. Sometimes we get up to him once in the night but usually he sleeps through until around 7am. Absolutely the best thing we ever did. Everyone is happier and we have more time to play with him and have fun. Everyone who has a baby needs to know about you guys!

Lizzie, 6 years.

The problem

For the past 5 months, my six year old daughter has refused to sleep in her own bed. She’s been coming out to my room, and I was putting her back to bed over and over again. We were both in tears every night and by the early hours of the morning she had eventually crashed out either on the couch, in my bed, or on the floor outside my room. We were then both exhausted and cranky throughout the day, and it was taking a toll on my marriage and on the mood of everyone in the family.

The solution

I couldn’t take it anymore. I found Infant Sleep Australia online and saw that even the hospitals use them to sort sleep issues, and how their research is literally helping to write the books on Australian maternal/children’s health care.

The outcome

I’m so grateful I reached out, and I couldn’t be happier with the help from Fallon. It was clear, simple, and felt so good to have the tools to help Lizzie sleep through the night in her own bed. It was incredible to have an outsider’s perspective and assistance backed by so much knowledge and research. I can’t recommend Infant Sleep Australia highly enough. I didn’t even need to see them in person, which was a huge bonus as I’m in NSW. Definitely give them a go if you need help with your little one, whether they’re 6 months or 6 years I am confident that Fallon can help. Thank you for saving my sanity (and marriage) and helping Lizzie to be a well-rested and happier girl. You’ve made a huge difference to our whole family.

Willa, 2 years.

Our third child proved to be our most challenging. After 2 years of broken sleep and with frustration reaching boiling point my wife and I decided to speak to the team at Infant Sleep Australia. It was the best decision we could have made. Not only did our sleep improve instantly, it was done in a way that motivated and provided a sense of pride in our daughter that makes the process work night after night. It’s amazing how you don’t realise how affected you are until the problem improves, and lack of sleep was affecting my career, my relationship with my other children and wife, and also my own personal wellbeing. Thank you to Fallon and her team, I could not recommend them enough.

-D. father of Willa (2 years)

We sought an appointment with Infant Sleep Australia after nearly two years of problematic sleep issues with our daughter. I have a background in research and it was important to me that advice we were receiving was evidence based. I was aware that Fallon had completed post-doctoral studies in infant regulation and this made me feel much more comfortable as I could be confident she knew what she was talking about. Willa is our third. We went to sleep school with our two older children and thought we knew everything there was to know about sleep. Fallon came to our home, went through our daily routine, and tailored a sleep plan that fit with our family, our parenting and our lifestyle. No issue seemed too curly for her! She recommended a range of really manageable strategies that the whole family could get on board with (the older two are actually benefitting too). She also provided follow-up support which has been really helpful. Last night we had our first full night's sleep in two years. Willa's behaviour during the day has also improved. Willa is so proud of herself, we are thrilled, and the whole family is looking forward to this new phase of parenting where we are not chronically sleep deprived! I cannot recommend this service highly enough.

Jack, 17 months.

The problem

Jack had always only slept for a few hours at a time at night. On a good night he would wake only 3x per night, but it could be hourly. Once he started childcare, he picked up every bug around and his sleep really went out the window. We ended up having to have him in bed with us to get any kind of sleep. With both of us working we were finding it impossible.

The solution

When we saw Dr Laura we were so relieved to hear the steps she recommended to help Jack learn to sleep in his own room again. We chose a gradual approach because Jack is so sensitive.

The outcome

Over about a month Jack’s sleep became so much better. Now we put him to bed at night and he goes off to sleep without needing us to stay with him. We have our evenings together again and are all feeling much more human now!

Vance, 6 months.

Our baby is sleeping through the night and has been for about a month! Sometimes he will wake around 5 but we just put his dummy back in and he sleeps until 6:30. His day naps are perfect! Goes down really well and self-settles himself completely. At night when he goes down he just knows what he do and even reaches towards his cot to be put down. We have been away twice where Vance has had to sleep in different environments and in the car but he is in such a great routine that he still slept through and achieved all his day naps. On occasions we have changed his day nap times to make appointments and he has gone down whenever we need him to.

It’s unbelievable! We cannot believe that Vance is having these amazing sleeps and that we are sleeping too.

Thank you Fallon, so so so much! We couldn’t be happier with all your advice, support and patience. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
